Hacienda San Rafael was constructed in the XIX century, it is one of the oldest and most unique in the region. It has witnessed major events in Mexico´s history like the Revolution. Some of its windows and the main door were burnt by revolutionaries in an attempt to take over the place, luckily with no success. When the revolution ended the Hacienda was restored and it has kept its authentic architecture. With a rich soil and a vast territory, it was used to grow crops like corn, alfalfa, beans, chili peppers and potatoes. La Hacienda has been renovated to include all the facilities of modern living, and to provide the comfort that a distinguished guest deserves. Although at the same time it is still rich with the history of the revolution and the charm of the original structure. Our traditional cuisine is formed by Mexican dishes prepared with organic vegetables from our “huerta” or brought from the town market in order to have our guests enjoy the finest Mexican meals throughout their stay with us.

Ecology- Hacienda San Rafael is an ecological environment. We try to avoid the less damage to nature. Our soaps, body shampoos and shampoo are biodegradable and/or have a low phosphate level. We use natural soaps that contain no phosphorus or ammonium lauryl sulfate.

Water- To assure our guests a safe stay with us, the Hacienda´s water has been proved in chemical laboratories and its purity has been approved for human consumption. .
